Our Fleet - Bumblebee

Bumblebee III' is Chicago Sailing's newest addition. At 53 feet she is also our largest. We chose Bumblebee after an exhaustive search to locate the perfect vessel to serve larger groups on a bareboat basis*. Having found her in Florida, we restored her elegance and reinstated her famous name. Now we proudly offer her for your sailing enjoyment.

Designed by German Frers and built by Palmer Johnson, Bumblebee proved to be a most successful offshore racer. Among her notable victories, Bumblebee was the winning member of the Australian Admiral's Cup team. We were pleased to find that her speed has not diminished. On our cruising delivery from Ft. Lauderdale to Albany, NY, we covered 1,100 miles in just five days!

You will be as delighted by Bumblebee's comfortable deck seating and accommodations as her performance. Large groups will enjoy sailing along the Chicago skyline in grace. Your professional captain will ensure that your outing is memorable, even offering opportunities to steer and handle sail trim.

* A vessel that is leased to individuals for personal use. A qualified, approved captain and crew are required in order to rent this vessel. We offer a number of candidates if you are unable to satisfy this insurance requirement.
