Experienced instructors guide each team through a series of challenges while sailing, which emphasize the importance of teamwork, communication, cooperation and fun.

  The process of molding new working relationships begins immediately as random teams are created and paired with an on-board trainer. The new ‘crews’ attend the shore side training session together, learning the fundamentals of sailing, crew positions and cooperation toward a common goal. Then it's out on the water to practice these new skills before they are thrust into the focused effort of sailboat racing as a team. In a series of short races, each crew member will learn to command each position in the crew on a repetitive, rotational basis. Each member of your team will learn that overall success depends upon supporting and anticipating the needs of all others.Prior sailing experience is completely unnecessary and of no advantage. Lasting value comes when teams come together to triumph over situations that are new and challenges that cannot be anticipated. And the winners are those with the widest smiles. By the time the teams return to the dock they will confidently approach any new challenge, including the America's Cup itself! Popular at either end of a conference or as a special outing, Chicago Sailing’s team events are the unique, creative, and popular way to accomplish your corporate training goals. And what could be more fun than a day of on-the-water competition? All events come complete with boats, facilitators, race coordinators and basic sailing instruction.
