Learning to sail is easy and when taught properly, it's a ton of fun. Whatever your skill level, at Chicago Sailing we have a course that suits your needs. As a US SAILING certified school, Chicago Sailing is the ideal source to hone your skills whether you're a rank novice or an experienced yacht racer!

Our US SAILING certified instructors are well-respected sailors who have the experience and knowledge to teach students to safely skipper or race boats from 22 to 53 feet. In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, we also offer Sailing and Racing programs for students or old salts who want to enhance their skills or just have some flat-out fun.

All of our courses have a strong practical focus (we teach, you sail) and are geared towards ensuring that you can skipper your own boat with complete confidence. We use J/22, J/24 and J/30 keelboats along with Hunter 326's because of their quality, design and ease of handling. These are excellent boats to learn on, as they are sensitive to changes and adjustments in sail trim. The majority of your training will take place on the water in one or more of these fabulous boats, giving you lots of hands-on practical experience.
