Preferred Rental Program

Fractional Sailing (Timesharing) of a vessel is an increasingly popular way for avid sailors to enjoy the adventure of sailing without the expense and hassle of boat ownership. While there are several programs that offering a cost-effective alternative to boat ownership, Chicago Sailing Inc.’s Preferred Rental Program PRP stands alone as an intelligent choice for several reasons. Chief among these is our unique format that provides an increased number of sailing opportunities (up to 54/season) that are based on actual sailing usage.

With over twenty years as Chicago’s sailboat rental authority Chicago Sailing understands all aspects of fractional sailing. Unlike management companies with an eye to their convenience, we designed the Preferred Rental Program to suit the needs of sailors. Notice that the PRP has no initiation fees and no hidden charges.

Industry experience demonstrates that the average participant rarely sails for more than a few hours at any given time. And since most fractional programs offer just six 11-hour timeslots per month (3 daytime and 3 overnighters), you are paying for sailing time that often goes unused. Consider the PRP, which offers a wider range of sailing times and many more of them. PRP participants average nine opportunities to sail per month (6 daytime and 3 evenings). Participants get the maximum number of sailing opportunities and the most flexibility in actual sailing enjoyment.

There is no more convenient way to sail than at Chicago Sailing. You park adjacent to your private slip. No parking garages, no forced marches with heavy gear, no long waits for a tender and no loss of sailing time. Just park at North Belmont Harbor docks and be sailing within ten minutes. And since we are so close to area restaurants and stores, you will not be overly inconvenienced by any ‘emergency’ purchases. Our docks are nestled in Waveland Park, within walking distance of several beaches, a golf course and public transportation.

Our qualified participants enjoy the maximum number of sailing slots. After a captain chooses the seasonal calendar that best matches his personal schedule he is free to acquire/trade for other sailing times. Even the most avid sailors will be challenged to fully enjoy all the sailing time that is available.
