Few cities embrace St. Patricks day like Chicago does, and even less companies embrace it like Chicago Sailing does!
We have a strong passion for all things Irish here at Chicago Sailing, represented in our annual Irish J-1 staff, and our passion for Guinness 🙂
We deiced to take some friends and Family of the Chicago Sailing team out on “Naida” to experience the annual river dye festivities from the water. It did not disappoint! We had plenty of provisions and Irish Soda bread to go around, we were even joined by Captain Toby Lindo & his wife Sharon from the Robert Allan II, a 1936 Grebe yacht here in Chicago.
In fact, the weather on Sunday was so spectacular we gathered again to bring both Squid (Our trusty houseboat/office) and Naida up to B Dock for the season! Alan and Graham had put in lots of hours over the winter on Squid’s engines, and boy did it pay off! Squid ran great for her early jaunt up to Belmont, as did Naida.
The lake was flat, and spirit was high as we exited the Chicago Harbor Lock and headed north through the playpen towards Belmont
It’s always fun to see a different view out of our office window! Today’s weather made our trip past Navy Pier even better.
Success! We made it, and now that Squid is on station, J/22s can start coming down. The season is near Chicago Sailors, stay tuned for opening party details.
